Preheat oven to 450°. Cut off top ¼ of garlic and discard. Place garlic head cut-side up in a small baking dish. Drizzle exposed cloves with 1 tsp oil and a pinch of salt. Cover dish with foil and bake for 20-25 minutes until soft and lightly browned. Allow garlic to cool slightly, then squeeze cloves from skins.
